Media Statement: For immediate release 22 December 2025
Further to the media statement issued on 18 December 2025 regarding the processing of payments under the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP 6), the National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) wishes to provide an update to stakeholders.
The NAC hereby confirms that on 18 December 2025 the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) transferred the PESP 6 funds into the NAC’s account. The funds are expected to reflect in the NAC account by 23 December 2025. On 23 December 2025 the NAC will commence the process of effecting PESP 6 payments in accordance with its established financial and administrative procedures.
Payments will be made to all approved beneficiaries who have complied with the NAC funding requirements, including the signing and submission of the required contractual documentation. Payments will continue until 24 December 2025, subject to the completion of all required verification and compliance processes.
The National Arts Council of South Africa wishes to thank DSAC for the prompt manner in which the transfer of the funds was handled which shows its commitment to the sector.
