Assessment Criteria
This page outlines the criteria and methodology for application assessment by programme panel members to advisory panel members.
This methodology has been gleaned from best practice in the grant funding landscape and anticipates more coherent and specific feedback to applicants. All of the criteria are equally weighted.

a. Social Cohesion and Nation Building
|
The extent to which the project brings about social integration and inclusion in communities and society at large, whilst forging national unity

b. Marginalised Communities and Indigenous Arts
|
Rural communities have a wealth of indigenous and rare artistic expressions that remain in the shadow of mainstream arts. Unearthing and profiling these hidden art forms will provide a platform to these arts practitioners as well as expose the arts to new audiences and markets.

c. Addressing Social Ills
|
The ability of the artistic expression to give a voice to the voiceless and help combat social ills such as xenophobia, gender-based-violence, bullying and other violent crimes, including drugs and gangsterism.
