The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) wishes to provide an update on the processing of payments under the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP 6) for all approved beneficiaries.
The NAC previously communicated its intention to disburse PESP 6 payments during December 2025. This commitment was made with the understanding that the requisite funds would have been received into the NAC’s account by early December 2025, thereby enabling the NAC to process payments within the month.
Stakeholders are hereby advised that, to date, the funds required to effect these payments have not yet been received from the National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture. As a result, the NAC is currently unable to process PESP 6 payments. The NAC regrets any inconvenience caused to affected stakeholders by this delay.
The NAC wishes to assure all stakeholders that it continues to undertake the necessary follow-up engagements with the National Department to facilitate the receipt of these funds. Payments will be disbursed upon receipt of the funds into the NAC account.
The NAC remains committed to transparent communication and the effective fulfilment of its mandate. Furthermore, the NAC appreciates the patience and understanding of the arts and culture sector and will provide further updates as developments occur.
