NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL TO ADMINISTER PESP 6 APPEALS PROCESS

Media Statement: For immediate release                                07 January 2026

The National Arts Council (NAC) has received a letter from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) requesting the entity to administer the appeals process for the Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP 6), given its designation as a special funding programme.

Stakeholders who wish to lodge an appeal are requested to adhere to the following process: The appellant must submit a written notice of their intention to appeal within 30 days, commencing from 07 January 2026 and ending on 07 February 2026.

The notice of appeal must include the full name and address of the appellant, a clear description of the grievance, the reasons for the grievance, and the appellant’s PESP 6 application number. Appeals must be submitted via email to pespappeals@nac.org.za. Stakeholders who have previously submitted appeals to DSAC are requested to redirect their appeals to the above- mentioned email address.

The NAC reserves the right to allocate funds in accordance with its strategic priorities. The submission of an appeal does not confer any constitutional right to funding, and no applicant is automatically entitled to funding. All funding decisions remain at the sole discretion of the NAC.

The NAC is dedicated to maintaining a fair, transparent, and accountable appeals process and calls on all stakeholders to follow the established procedures.
