This initiative brought about a special focus on empowering women through skill development and entrepreneurship. The Power of Women Project stands as a beacon of empowerment, skills sharing, and development for local artists and unemployed youth from the Ingquza Hill Municipality. This initiative focused primarily on uplifting women and youth within the community, creating opportunities for entrepreneurship through dynamic and artistic visual production.
Professional artists led the program, serving as mentors and role models for emerging women artists. The exchange of skills and knowledge fostered a collaborative environment where participants learned from one another, honing their craft while building confidence in their abilities.
Funded by the PESP Programme, the initiative under the visual arts discipline instilled a sense of pride in the participants, enabling them to leverage their newly acquired skills for income generation. By showcasing their creativity and talent, they have not only enhanced their personal growth but also contributed to the economic well-being of their community.
