The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Julie Diphofa as its Interim CEO. She holds a Master’s degree from the University of Witwatersrand and has served the NAC for over twenty (20) years.
Ms. Diphofa has been at the helm of the organisation as the Acting CEO whilst the entity was undergoing the process of the search for a permanent CEO.
However, the recent announcement by the Honourable Minister Zizi Kodwa that the National Department of Sport, Arts & Culture has commenced with the process of merging the National Arts Council and the National Film and Video Foundation, has led to the postponement of the CEO recruitment process of the NAC. This recruitment process will only resume after the conclusion of the amalgamation of the two above-mentioned entities.
The Interim CEO‘s term will be tied to the conclusion of the amalgamation process.
“The NAC Council is delighted that Ms. Diphofa has accepted the responsibility to continue leading the entity. We remain confident in the leadership of Ms. Diphofa, as she continues to play a role in growing the stability of the organisation and how she serves the arts community professionally, passionately and with excellence” says the NAC Chairperson, HRH Princess Celenhle Dlamini.
The NAC Council is also pleased to appoint Ms. Reshma Bhoola as its Interim CFO for a similar term.
End.
