Africa is a continent that is rich and diverse in heritage, culture, and the arts. The month of May celebrates Africa and commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). Africa Month encourages and increases the appreciation and demand for arts and culture across the continent.

As practitioners of the arts and culture, it is our responsibility to keep building African nations and unity through the arts while embracing our cultural history.

The National Arts Council wishes all practitioners in the arts sectors a fruitful and impactful Africa Month.
