Hartzenberg Films celebrates Celeste Matthews Wannenburgh✨

Celeste is a professional Fleur du Cap Award-winning actress — active since 1993, a professional educator of 22 years, expert panellist and provincial representative on several national agencies under the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture — the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and the National Arts Council (NAC), and previously, a commissioner for the Western Cape Cultural Commission (WCCC [2005]), a statutory body. She has also twice been an adjudicator for the SAFTA Awards. She currently star as (Aunty) Gertie Cupido in kykNET’s Arendsvlei.

She is greatly indebted to the Arts for giving her a place to belong and flourish and is emotionally invested in the wellbeing of South African creatives and their creations — specifically those which espouse, finely capture, or manifest the ideals of social cohesion, heritage preservation, and nation-building. This is why she has served and continue to serve in the various capacities herein mentioned.
