The National Arts Council hereby invites all competent, suitably qualified and interested persons to serve as members of the NAC Advisory Panel for a period of three (3) years from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2024. The members of the NAC Panels are required to have knowledge and expertise in the fields of craft, dance, literature, multidiscipline, music, theatre, and visual arts.
Requirements: Members must have achieved distinction or have special knowledge, experience and expertise in the above-mentioned fields as well as strategic knowledge in the arts. International experience, as well as knowledge of and expertise in indigenous art forms will be an added advantage. Nominated individuals must be South African citizens.
Responsibilities: Members will be required to fulfil the statutory role to advise the Council on the merits of applications for funding and on any matter relating to the fields of the arts to which he/she is appointed to. The advisory panel members will be required to assess applications and make recommendations to Council, as well as advise Council on policy matters relating to the arts.
Members can be nominated by any member of the public. Nominators are required to submit a detailed motivation for the nominee’s expertise in the arts, curriculum vitae of the nominee and a letter of acceptance from the nominated candidate.
Important to Note: Members of advisory panels shall not be eligible for funding grants in their personal capacity from the National Arts Council during their tenure.
Closing date for all nominations is 20 August 2021 at 23h55.
Please note that late nominations will not be considered, and no exceptions will be made. If the nominee has not heard from the NAC within two months of the closing date, consider your submission as unsuccessful and no further correspondence will be entered into.
