Legends come together at the Rise of Zacks Nkosi to celebrate one of their own ,”Bra Zacks Nkosi”.

This is history in the making since Alexandra Township will be celebrating Bra Zacks Tribute for the first time since he was laid to rest in 1980. Bra Zacks is a South African Jazz Legend born in Alexandra Township in 1919 and one of the best saxophonist of the golden age influencing gurus like Hugh Masekela, Ibrahim Abdul and to mention a few.

The lineup is a veterans variety of activities featuring in a short documentary, Sobhuza Nkosi the son of Bra Zacks Nkosi, Caiphus Semenya and Mme Leta Mbuli, Bra Sipho Hotstixx Mabuse, Bra Condri Ziqubu, Bra Stompie Manana.The voice of the veterans will be heard through a panel discussion planned by Professor Mongane Wally Serote and facilitated by Ausi Ntshieng Mokgoro the founder of the Olive tree Theatre. Performances are memories of the South African Jazz music Journey, a Live show opening stage to Bra Zacks Nkosi’s music performed by the African Jazz Hounds led by Gabrielle Masile.
