The Menzi Ngubane documentary film production has been completed and is due for release on the 2nd September 2022 at Nu Metro cinemas.
NGUBS “THE LIFE AND TIMES OF MENZI NGUBANE” documentary film is an important production in South Africa. It’s a film that aims to preserve the legacy of one of the finest actors ever emerged from South Africa. Menzi Ngubane’s acting career started in the 1980’s and ended in 2020. One of few actors to have remained relevant and consistent throughout his career with no breaks in between. Having appeared in many South African television, films and international films till the Covid-19 experience and unfortunately passing on 21 March 2021 due to health challenges. This film will be educational and informative about the discipline of professional acting, social responsibility, selfcare and the importance of the African spiritual world (when Menzi’s mother once revealed to him that his career after finishing school will be nothing but professional acting). This revelation eventually came true in 1987 when Menzi debuted on one of South Africa’s first black television show on SABC called “ZIKHETHELE”. South African actors are hardly documented, hence Softvideo Productions is making sure that this will be one of many to come in documenting the life’s and careers of South African actors dead or alive.
