Soulful and Scintillating Solos
DATES: From midnight Thursday 25th February until midnight Sunday 28th February (EST)
PROGRAMME DETAILS: The varied programme, chosen from concerts which took place between 2014 and 2019, includes an impressive, memorised performance of the first movement of Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, a heartrending interpretation of Bloch’s Nigun, by the young Buskaid violinist Mzwandlie Twala; Navarra by Sarasate, demanding high levels of virtuoso playing from violinists Simiso Radebe and Kabelo Monnathebe; Melvyn Tan’s sparkling performance of Saint-Saens’ Valse-Caprice – Wedding Cake; and, to celebrate Valentine’s month, some glorious singing by our own vocalist and violist, Mathapelo Matabane in What’ll I do, My Funny Valentine and Nina Simone’s version of Sinnerman. It’s rounded off with some very upbeat (and somewhat athletic) Kwela!
We do hope you will join us for our second inspirational concert, generously hosted by the Princeton Symphony Orchestra
