Join us celebrate Human Rights Day in style!
The Morris Isaacson Centre for Music is thrilled to host the first ever listening session celebrating Human Rights Day on Sunday, 21 March 2021. The listening session will feature a music workshop led by our Penny whistle teacher Sibusiso Lerole exploring the concept of human rights within the music industry.The session will host an open mic session for MICM students who wish to participate on performing their favourite song, poem or dance move. Ugubhu will be serenading the audience with drums and marimbas all day.
The event includes a screening of ‘An Unfinished Symphony’, the 20 minutes documentary film by Academy Award winner Orlando von Einsiedel about Music is a great Investment, MIAGI’s work in the context of the legacy of Nelson Mandela, Nobel Peace Prize laureate 1993 that was world premiered in May 2020 by The Nobel Prize and National Geographic. The session will close off with a hot Dj line up featuring our Director’s playlist Ms. Lungile Zaphi.
