Madré Loubser was appointed to the National Arts Council (NAC) as the Western Cape representative on the NAC Provincial Council and Board in May 2019 and is a multi-talented professional flautist, educator, music librarian and administrator.
Loubser holds a Bachelor of Music and Performance Diploma in Music from Stellenbosch University. She currently serves the following organisations in various capacities: Chairperson of the Cultural Council: Western Cape Cultural Commission, Council member of the Western Cape Cultural Commission: Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport – Western Cape Government.
Loubser is currently Youth Development and Education Coordinator at Cape Town Opera with musical administration duties. In addition, she is also a private flute teacher, ad-hoc flautist and freelance music librarian for various productions in and around Cape Town.
Well versed in classical music and opera and select African vocal repertoire, she has also managed her own artist booking agency, Onyx Noir; worked as a Music Administrator at Cape Town Opera and acted as Company Manager for Cape Town Opera’s production African Angels II tour to Germany and Switzerland. Other engagements include Festival Librarian for the Stellenbosch International Chamber Music Festival and Orchestra Librarian of the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
