New CFO appointed to National Arts Council

Dumisani Dhlamini has been appointed new chief financial officer at the National Arts Council, joining the organisation from the South African Revenue Service.

Mr Dhlamini has 13 years’ experience in the financial sector, having worked for Ithala Development Finance Corporation and Engen Petroleum in addition to SARS and he brings extensive expertise in governance, supply chain management, finance, and audit and asset management to the NAC.

Commenting on his appointment Angie Makwetla, NAC chairperson, said, “We believe that Dumisani’s wealth of knowledge and experience will play a critical role in ensuring efficiency in the implementation of the NAC mandate. He will take on a key leadership role within the organisation, ensuring oversight of all financial matters and integrity in the way that public and other funds are utilised and disbursed.”

Mr Dhlamini is a qualified accountant and gained his Masters of Commerce in Leadership from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2014.
