Invitation for artists to participate in the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA): 23 - 30 June 2018

The NAC has partnered with the International Symposium in Electronic Arts (ISEA), which will be hosted by South Africa for the first time on the African continent. ISEA International is a non-profit organization, constituted in the Netherlands.

It is managed by a voluntary board who oversee the activities of ISEA International. The main activity of ISEA is to host the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA).

Outcomes date: 11 June 2018

The ISEA is one of the world’s most prominent international arts and technology events, bringing together scholars, artists, and scientists in an interdisciplinary discussion and showcase of creative productions applying new technologies in art, interactivity, and electronic and digital media. It will take place in Durban from the 23rd to 30th of June 2018

The National Arts Council calls for individual artists who present original and outstanding electronic/ digital art forms to participate at this prestigious platform. Proposals supported by portfolios of work may be submitted to the NAC by talented professional performing artists and visual artists for consideration.

Prospective applicants are required to submit a two (2) page expression of interest motivating why they should be considered for participation. In addition, samples of work in the form of DVDs, pictures and videos should be submitted to the NAC. The cost of participation in the symposium will be borne by the NAC. Applicants are required to have a valid South African identity document to be eligible.


  • Samples of work must be submitted with the expression of interest
  • Applications must be submitted on or before 30 May 2018 to by 16h00.

Please note that late and incomplete submissions will not be considered at all and no exceptions will be made.
