NAC Council Member and Theatre Panel Chairperson, Advocate Nakedi Ribane will have an order bestowed in Silver for her contribution to the performing arts and literature. She has been a consistent advocate for equity and justice in the arts.

National Orders are the highest awards that the country bestows on people who have contributed to the advancement of democracy and made an impact on improving the lives of South Africans.

They also recognise contributions by individuals to a non-racial‚ non-sexist‚ democratic and prosperous South Africa as envisaged in the Constitution. We are extremely proud of Advocate Ribane for playing such a vital role in the arts, culture and heritage sector. She is truly deserving of the recognition.
