APPOINTMENT OF NEW ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER 

 Media Statement: For immediate release 13 October 2025 

The National Arts Council of South Africa (NAC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Vincent Mashale, the NAC’s Company Secretary, as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO). 

Mr Mashale assumes this role following the conclusion of the term of Mr Lebogang Mogoera, who had been seconded to the NAC by the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, Honourable Gayton McKenzie, as Interim Chief Executive Officer. The Council extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Mogoera for his leadership and valuable contribution during his tenure. 

Mr Mashale brings with him a wealth of experience in corporate governance, spanning more than three decades in leadership roles across both the public and private sectors. His extensive expertise and steadfast commitment to good governance position him well to ensure stability and continuity during this transitional period. 

The Council has full confidence in Mr Mashale’s leadership and his ability to steer the organisation effectively as it continues to deliver on its mandate of supporting and advancing the arts in South Africa.
