NAC delegation attends Conference  in  Ghana

The NAC will be attending the International Conference on African Culture and Development (ICACD) which will be held in Kumasi, Ghana from 21 to 26 April 2008. During this conference the NAC will be hosting a seminar on “Funding Model within the African Context”.

The International Conference on African Culture and Development is an advocacy body instituted to push forward cultural considerations into the policy framework development of Africa. The main focus of the ICACD is on conducting research and exchanging of ideas in order to identify how social and cultural institutions of Africa can seek solutions for development from a culturally sensitive perspective and thus support African political institutions to bring about the desired change.

The conference will among other things be used as a platform to create an awareness and to initiate dialogue among stakeholders about IFACCA World Summit on Arts and Culture to be hosted by the NAC in September 2009 in association with the National Department of Arts and Culture, Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts and Culture and Johannesburg Metropolitan Council.

The NAC-delegation attending the conference consists of:

  • Adv. Brenda Madumise (Vice Chair)
  • Prof. David Bunn (Board member)
  • Mr. Goodwin Mnisi (acting CEO)
  • Ms. Mary-Anne Makgoka (Board secretary)
